LENTEN ADULT BIBLE STUDY
Starting TODAY, Wednesday, February 24th at 11:00am, we will begin a six week Lenten Study, offered on Zoom. This forum will be exploring the events of Holy Week through the lens of the Gospel texts, artwork and insights of world-renowned biblical scholars and professors of preaching at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. This traditional Benedictine practice focuses on reading a passage of Holy Scripture followed by brief periods of reflection and prayer. The intention is to promote an encounter with God. Divine Reading does not treat Scripture as texts to be studied (that is, Bible Study), but as the Living Word—a path to find out what God is saying to me personally, and a time to listen for my heart’s response to God. Sessions will be held 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., beginning February 24 (the Wednesday after Ash Wednesday) through March 31st (the Wednesday before Easter) Please e-mail office@sac-okc.org to register and receive a Zoom link. BROTHERHOOD CURBSIDE TAKE OUT DINNERSTODAY is the last day to orders! The Brotherhood of St. Lawrence will be smoking up some tender baby back rib dinners to be picked up THIS Saturday, February 27th.
LENT KIT PICK UP Due to the inclement weather on Ash Wednesday this past week, we were unable to share complimentary Lent Kits with our congregation and community. Drop by St. Augustine this week Monday-Friday 9am-3pm to pick up a kit in person, or Sunday 2/28 drive through pick up 9am-10:30am and again 12:30-1:30pm following the close of service. Kits include multiple resources to deepen your journey through the Season of Lent - A Devotional Book, Lent Calendar, Lent Madness reading, Cross with nail, Prayer Cube, Soup, and much more. LENTEN OUTREACH: EASTER MEALS FOR THE HOMELESS In our ongoing efforts to help feed the hungry, we have set a goal of providing 700 meals this Easter. Despite the pandemic, we are confident that during this season of Lent the people of St. Augustine will help reach this goal. It is a great way for us to honor our crucified and risen Lord by sharing his love with homeless families making sure they have food to eat on Easter Sunday! Here is the list of food items we will be gathering each week of Lent:

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICES CANCELED
Due to the heavy snowfall we received on Sunday, and the forecast of more inclement weather, we will not have our regularly scheduled Ash Wednesday services. Later this week, a small packet of ashes will be mailed to your household to be used as part of our on-line worship service. As part of that service, we will remember our mortality, and cling to the promise given to everyone through the gospel. We encourage you to join us on the First Sunday in Lent, this coming Sunday, February 21st, at 10:45 am on YouTube.
