From May 8 through May 29, we will study the Book of Ruth, which is an important historical book in the Hebrew Scriptures and shows the love of God is open to Jews and Gentiles. Ruth was a Moabite, whose sense of piety and devotion to her mother-in-law, Naomi, led to her marriage to the prominent Boaz of Bethlehem. The book also traces the lineage of King David and ultimately that of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. As we work our way through the Easter Season, we will finish the study by Pentecost, which coincides with when this book is read in synagogues. Classes, which are led by Fr. Joseph, will take place Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m.
