On Maundy Thursday, we will continue our tradition of tasting the Passover Foods, washing the feet of members, and celebrating the Institution of the Eucharist. This year, we will be blessed to have St. James Episcopal Church join us. Our beloved Deacon Robby Trammell will preach and Fr. Cuco Escalera will concelebrate. Also, as part of our venerable tradition we will participate in the "The Watch Through the Night." Clipboards for the Watch through the Night will be available in the Commons Area. We encourage you to pick a 30-minute slot to pray in the Chapel at the conclusion of the service. YOUTH EGG AND SUITCASE PACKING On Good Friday, April 15 at 6pm, the youth of St. Auggies’ will be gathering to help stuff eggs for the Easter Sunday Egg Hunt and pack the care packages into the suitcases collected for foster children in Oklahoma. Then, at 7pm the youth will join the Good Friday service. YOUTH STATIONS OF THE RESURRECTION On Sunday, April 24, during the 10:45am service, the youth will lead the entire congregation in praying the Stations of the Resurrection. Just as the Stations of the Cross commemorate the 14 events leading to the crucifixion, death, and burial of Christ, the Stations of the Resurrection commemorate 14 events immediately following the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. Fr. Tony will guide us on a seven-week Prayer Journey prior to and during Lent. We will begin with the background and value of the ancient prayer method, Lectio Divina (Divine Reading). A unique focus will be placed on Centering Prayer and our own sacred writing or sacred drawing as part of a prayer practice. Attend one or all of these seven Sunday morning sessions. Why? Did you know just one meatless meal weekly saves up to 133 gallons of water and 24 square feet of land! THIS WEEK we’ve shared a recipe for a warm veggie soup on our church social media. You can also always try a meatless chilli (yum!) or go the ‘comfort food’ route with some tomato soup and a grilled cheese. Delegates would be expected to attend a variety of informational sessions, listen to keynote speakers and other presenters, and help vote on agenda items and resolutions. There will also be opportunities for worship, socializing and fellowship, hikes, and enjoying St. Crispin’s. Accommodations and meals are provided, although you must drive yourself (or carpool) to St. Crispin’s. To serve as a delegate, you must be a confirmed, adult member of St. Augustine. VOCAL RECITAL FEATURING BUD JOHNSON On Saturday, January 29th, at 7:30pm, Bud Johnson, long time member of St. Augustine, will give a free hour-long vocal recital in the Nave. YOUTH SERVICE PROJECT AT RED BUFFALO FARMS All youth in grades 5-12, along with friends and parents, are welcome to meet at the home of Traci and Jason Eliot/Red Buffalo Farm, Sunday, January 30th at 2pm for our monthly service project for SISU Youth Services.
