Small Groups
Meeting with a small, trusted group to share insights and application of lessons from Holy Scripture is an amazing way to step into being a true disciple of Christ.
Small groups can also offer the benefits of connecting in more than a superficial way with fellow members of St. Augustine’s, developing trusting friendships, gaining knowledge and practice of one’s faith, and serving the greater community in some way. Click on any of the links below to find out more about meeting times, discussion topics and/or service opportunities for these various groups. We’d love for you to give one or more of these a try!

Cub Scouts
|
St. Augustine’s is the chartered home of the newly-formed (in the Fall of 2015) Cub Scout Pack 101. The pack has grown quickly to over 25 scouts and adult leaders, including many of our own church members. Due to great growth and activity the pack has earned Gold status with the Boy Scouts of America.
Pack 101 meets every Tuesday evening during the school year from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. It is open to boys in the 1st through 5th grades. We have also started a Lion’s program for kindergartners. New Scouts and leaders are always welcome. The Boy Scouts of America will provide all of the leader training needed. If you are interested in becoming a leader, or if you have a little one who wants to join the pack, please contact BoyScouts@sac-okc.org |
Daughters of the King
Reflecting God’s Love throughout the World
The Order of the Daughters of the King is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service, and Evangelism. It is a national organization composed of individual chapters at Episcopal churches around the world. Their mission is “the extension of Christ’s Kingdom through Prayer, Service, and Evangelism.”
The St. Augustine’s chapter of the Daughters of the King invites you to join its ranks. The group meets monthly to review and update its prayer list and participate in a group discussion of topics focusing on prayer. The St. Augustine’s chapter also conducts an annual “Women to Women” clothing and fund drive to benefit the YWCA Women’s Shelter for abused women and children.

Shining Knights Dinner Groups
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God. I Corinthians 10:3 |
Shining Knights is one of the longest-standing fellowship ministries at St. Augustine’s—and for good reason: FOOD! If you like food and crave social interaction with like-spirited members, this ministry may be for you! Shining Knights dinner groups are another easy and fun way to get acquainted with your fellow parishioners. Groups are comprised of 6 to 8 people. Members rotate hosting a monthly potluck dinner over the course of six months. The host/hostess is responsible for the location and the main course. Other members bring side dishes (appetizer, salad, dessert, etc.) coordinated by the host. New groups form every spring and fall. There are no other responsibilities—only fun and fellowship For more information or to sign up, please email ShiningKnights@sac-okc.org |
Fellowship and Study
|
St. Augustine’s Fellowship and Study Group ministry gives our members the opportunity to engage in intimate, meaningful relationships with a small number of other members. The groups are generally limited to 12 members or less who meet on a regular basis to pray, study and support each other, as well as perform some service to the church or the community.
Each Fellowship and Study Group is facilitated by a trained leader who is assisted with various tasks by the members of their group. While each group has a unique focus, the members of all groups share in ministering to one another – and making friends – while engaging in study, service and prayer. The church has a variety of study guides, video series and other resources that allow each group to select topics for discussion that appeal to the interests and personalities of the group members. |
There are a variety of Fellowship and Study Groups already in existence that welcome new members, including:
