The Rev. Robby Trammel
The Rev. Robby Trammell has been an ordained Deacon since 2007 and has attended St. Augustine’s since 2001. He holds a master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor’s in Journalism from The University of Central Oklahoma. He retired in 2018 as news director at The Oklahoman, where he was employed 32 years. He is past president of the Oklahoma Press Association and is in the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame. Robby and his wife Linda are native Oklahomans and have been married 46 years. They have three sons and five grandchildren. Robby is currently a postulant for the priesthood. He volunteers at the Jesus House street ministry; the Harbor home for the mentally impaired; and the Lionwood senior living center.
What do you love about SAC? “The diversity of our congregation. We truly are welcoming, affirming and supportive of everyone — a glimpse of heaven here on earth!”
What inspires you? “The Good News of Jesus Christ. His love and compassion for all, especially the sick and disabled, the outcasts of society and the spiritually lost. Through Christ, we have the forgiveness of sins, gift of salvation and assurance of eternal life.”
What made you decide to get involved in ministry work? “Out of gratitude for what Jesus Christ has done for me, for those I love and for all humanity. To share his Good News by word and deed.”
