St. Augustine's members Tyler & Angela Davis are expecting a baby, and we're throwing them a baby shower, St. Auggie’s style. All members of the church are invited to join the celebration in the Parish hall, after the 10:45 service THIS SUNDAY, June 30. This is a come-and-go event. If you wish to purchase a gift, Tyler and Angela have a registry at babylist.com.
The evenings of July 15th through 19th, we will be joining with our brothers and sisters at Church of the Resurrection for their Family Fellowship Week, an all-ages vacation bible school-type experience. This year features a superhero theme and will explore the Epistles. There will be opportunities both to help and to participate...sign up on the clipboard in the Commons Area or contact St. Augustine's office.
Adult Christian formation will continue through the summer with a series of stand-alone Sunday Adult Forum classes, led by Ann Ali. The first session, entitled “The Church’s Highest Calling: Faithfulness,” will take place Sunday July 14, at 9:35 a.m. We will discuss the following topics: What are the marks of a faithful church? How do we resist the tendency to pursue counterculture change for its own sake? What does faithfulness to the gospel look like in contemporary society?
PENTECOST – This Sunday, June 9, is the Day of Pentecost, the celebration of God sending us the gift of the Holy Spirit. We invite you to wear fiery colors such as red, orange or fuchsia on that day to symbolize the fire of the Spirit.
HEALTH SCREENINGS – Life Line Screenings will be here at St. Augustine this Saturday, June 8. Life Line provides potentially life-saving screenings that may not be included in the typical yearly check-up. For detailed information about the screenings provided and preparation for screening, visit their website at lifelinescreening.com. You can also find some online reviews about this program. (Note: this is not a Health Ministry event. However, since many people have been asking them about the screenings, the Health Ministry have provided some more information about how to take care of your cardiac health here.)
SPRING SOCIAL – Please join us this Friday, June 7th from 6 to 9 p.m. for our Spring Socialand Open Mic Night! This all-ages event will have something for everyone. We'll have food trucks, lawn games, face painting and clowns from 6 to 7:30 (beverages and dessert will be provided by the church, food trucks are pay as you wish), then we'll enjoy an open mic night showcasing the varied talents of our members from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. See Sarah-Emily Steinhardt, Member Engagement Coordinator, to reserve your spot at the mic or for additional details. You can also call the church office at 405-751-7874 or email memberengagement@sac-okc.org. We hope to see EVERYONE at this wonderful spring event.
