A warm and loving Episcopal Church, located in Oklahoma City. The St. Augustine’s Mission statement says a lot about us:
"We are an enthusiastically inviting and welcoming Christian community,
committed to the unity of all people with God through Christ."
Our church truly reflects the demographics of our surrounding Oklahoma City community, with the diversity of age, gender, ethnicity, social economic, political and religious backgrounds. We have a number of people who come to our church alone because they are single, or because their partner does not attend. There are families with young children, retired people and all ages in between. The LBGTQ+ community is well-represented, as are the African-American and Hispanic communities. We celebrate our unity in Christ while honoring our differences, always putting the work of love before uniformity of opinion.
As Episcopalians, we also exhibit diversity of thoughts and opinions regarding theology. We do not insist that we know all of the firm and final answers to life’s most important questions, yet we are united in our belief that the mission of the church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. We thus promise to follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and commit ourselves to listening to God and loving the questions as we seek the way of Jesus.
