ANNOUNCEMENTS

Letter in Regards to 8:30a.m. Rite I Services Resuming

9/25/2020

We are excited to announce that we will resume our 8:30 am service on Sunday, October 4.  All of the guidelines  for the 10:45 am service are working well and will remain in place for both services. In addition, after the conclusion of the 8:30 service, the Nave will be closed off and cleaned.  This process should take about 20-25 minutes. The reservation system will reflect both service options, so please be sure to make a reservation if you plan to attend either service. If you are still uncomfortable with returning to in-person worship, please do not feel any pressure to do so.  We will continue to broadcast the 10:45 am service on YouTube.

Again, thank you for adherence to the safety guidelines in the past weeks. It is because of your commitment that we are able to reopen.

Remember that for the time being, there will be no childcare or Children’s Chapel. There is also no fellowship time before or after the service. The East Corridor past the bathrooms, Parish Hall, and the West Corridor are closed.

While we know this is a lot to take in and is significantly different from our traditional routines of church attendance, please know that all of these safeguards have been adopted for your protection and that of your neighbor.

Love God. Love your neighbor…and while you’re at it, love yourself, too!
Presiding Bishop Michael Curry

Here are the new processes we have put in place for your safety:

  • Make a reservation for the service each week.  Please take this important step as we plan for the number of worshippers to expect and make sure there is socially distant seating available for everyone.  You may either click the links, [8:30a.m.] or [10:45a.m.],to make your reservation online; email the church office with the names of each person in your party; or call the church office at 405-751-7874 between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm Monday through Friday.  You should plan to arrive a little early so you have plenty of time to go through the check-in process when you arrive.
  • Masks are required in the building at all times, with the exception of receiving Holy Communion. Please maintain at least a 6-foot distance from others while in the building or on the grounds of the church. If you do not bring a mask, one will be provided.
  • Temperature checks by health staff will occur outside the main entrance to the church.  If your temperature is above 100.4° you will be asked to return home.
  • Once inside the main doors, check in with the greeters and use the available hand sanitizer.
  • Proceed to the Narthex where ushers will direct you to your seat.  Bulletins will be already in the seats. Members of the same household will be seated together.
  • If at all possible, remain at your seat during the service. The Presider will bring Holy Communion (bread only) to you at your seat.
  • At the conclusion of the service, an usher will conduct you to the appropriate exit. Please wait until the usher dismisses you, drop you bulletin at the receptacle at the door and leave your mask on until you arrive at your car.

These same points are covered in a short video prepared for your review – and entertainment!  Click [here] to view the video.

Thank you,

Amy Smith
