ANNOUNCEMENTS

WEEK OF AUGUST 30

9/1/2020

REOPENING FOR IN PERSON SERVICES
We’re happy to announce that we’re scheduled to resume in-person worship on Sunday, September 6th at 10:45 am.  We’re excited about this sign of progress, but want to point out that the service will continue to be live-streamed and recorded for those who are not ready (either physically or mentally) to be present in person.
Father Joe and the Re-opening Committee have instituted a number of new protocols that we believe will make our environment as safe as it can reasonably be.  These new measures include making advance reservations to attend the service, temperature checks at the door, a mask requirement, limited seating for social distancing, hand sanitizer stations, modified passing of the Peace and communion distribution, and no congregational singing.  There will be no fellowship time and no child care or children’s chapel.  All of these new processes and procedures will be explained in detail in a special communication, including a video, early next week.
We are grateful to be able to gather in this way, and thank you for your help in making worship safe for our St. Augustine’s community.

EFM OPPORTUNITY
The opportunity continuing education in ones’ Christian Formation is realized via the theological education program by extension called Education for Ministry (EfM). This program is for lay persons and has been developed and is administered by the Episcopal School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. The program is conducted at various locations in Oklahoma, one of which is out of Edmond, Oklahoma. Due to the Covid-19 challenges, meetings are currently conducted virtually via Zoom. The program is four (4) years in length, taken one year at a time.
Enrollment for the 2020-2021 school term is now open. If interested in more detailed information, contact the following: EfM.sewanee.edu or The Rev. Bill Hesse (hessewa@aol.com, (405)348-4167)

PIZZA WITH THE PRIEST ON ZOOM
The Clergy, Vestry and Staff of St. Augustine’s cordially invite any new attenders to “Pizza with the Priest” on Sunday, September 20th at 12:30pm (following the close of our 10:45am worship service) virtually via Zoom. This event is an opportunity to find out more about St. Augustine’s in an informal setting for newer attendees.
