ANNOUNCEMENTS

WEEK OF JANUARY 25 AT ST. AUGUSTINE OF CANTERBURY EPISCOPAL CHURCH

ADULT BIBLE STUDY
The season of Epiphany is a time in which we bask in the light of Christ, revealed to all the nations. During this season we lift up the intrinsic value diversity plays as seen in every culture and ethnic group. In light of the social tensions that have occurred in our country over the past year, and in preparation for the celebration of Black History month, in February.

A three-week online Adult Bible study beginning TODAY, January 27th will be offered on Zoom. This brief survey will highlight the presence of ancient Africans/Blacks in both the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, Early Church and Modern-day Church. We invite you to learn, rediscover and celebrate the contributions of people of color within the pages of the Bible. Email office@sac-okc.org for more details and to sign up.

ANNUAL MEETING
2021's Annual Meeting will be held via Zoom THIS Sunday, January 31st at 12:30pm. Click HERE to RSVP, then we will email you the Zoom information you will need to join the meeting.

COVID VACCINATION SCHEDULING ASSISTANCE
Are you eligible for a COVID Vaccine, but need assistance in scheduling? Please click HERE on a way that we can help you with that. We have a member and team who wants to assist anyone who is having difficulties in signing up to get vaccinated.

ASH WEDNESDAY
Our plan for Ash Wednesday will be to open our doors that day for us all to worship together. Take advantage of one of our worship opportunities as we begin our Lenten journey on Wednesday, February 17th.
  • Ash and Dash (drive-through ashes in the parking lot), 7-10 a.m., 1-3 p.m. & 4 - 6p.m.
  • Simple Ash Wednesday Liturgy with Holy Eucharist at 12 Noon
  • Ash Wednesday Liturgy with Holy Eucharist at 7 p.m.
More details on how to sign up to reserve a spot for one of the services will be given as Ash Wednesday gets closer.

MLK JR. ACTS OF SERVICE OUTREACH
In respect to MLK Jr. Day, the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities, we'd like to offer a few service options that nearly everyone can do this month.
  1. Pet (dog) food and supply collection for Homeless Alliance of OKC - Many of the homeless and vulnerable in our community also have a beloved dog as a comfort and companion. Pets are often overlooked in donations for the homeless. We'll collect dog food and supply items here at SAC for Homeless Alliance to share with clients with pets through Sunday, January 31.
  2. Canned/Non-Perishable Food Collection for The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma: Look through your pantry or cupboards and collect a handful of items to donate to The RFBO! What a beautiful way to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, by helping feed those in need. We'll collect canned goods through Sunday, January 31 at the church.
*You may also wish to make a monetary donation to the church, and we'll do the shopping for you. Simply indicate in the memo of your check, or note on tithe.ly that your gift is directed toward MLK outreach.
