Have you ever considered serving as a Lector at St. Augustine?
Lectors have the privilege of proclaiming Holy Scripture during worship—helping God’s Word come alive for our congregation.
You don’t need to be a professional speaker or have previous experience. You simply need a willingness to serve and a desire to grow. We will soon offer a one-hour Lector Training Class for anyone interested in becoming a lector, as well as current lectors who would like a refresher. We’ll cover the role of the lector in Episcopal worship, preparation of the readings, pronunciation, pacing, microphone technique, and practical tips for reading Scripture with confidence and meaning.
If you have ever thought, “I might be able to do that,” this is a great opportunity to learn more—with no obligation to join the ministry.
