What to Expect

WHAT TO EXPECT

Plan Your Visit

Join us Sundays at 8:30 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. and Wednesdays at Noon for worship that is meaningful, reverent, and welcoming.

We know visiting a new church can feel a little uncertain. At St. Augustine of Canterbury, we hope you’ll feel at ease from the moment you walk in. You’ll be greeted with a smile and given an easy-to-follow bulletin so you can settle in and simply experience worship.

Our services are rooted in ancient Christian tradition. You may notice people bow, kneel, or make the sign of the cross—these are simply meaningful expressions of worship, not expectations. There is no “right way” to participate, and no two people worship in the exact same way. If you’re new, we encourage you to sit where you feel comfortable, follow along, and observe in ways that feel meaningful to you.

What matters most is that you’re here. We hope you experience beauty, peace, and the deep welcome of God’s love among us.

A quiet, spoken Holy Eucharist with a short homily, prayers, and communion—a peaceful mid-week opportunity for reflection and renewal.

What about my kids?

Children are always welcome here. We believe faith grows best when nurtured with joy, curiosity, and care.

  • Nursery care for infants and toddlers each Sunday from 9:30 – 11:15 a.m.
  • Children begin the 10:45 service with their families, then gather for a special Children’s Moment before heading to Children’s Chapel for an engaging, hands-on faith lesson.
  • Children return after the Peace to finish worship with their families.
  • Older youth are invited to serve as acolytes and help lead worship throughout the year.
  • All volunteers working with children & youth complete training through the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma’s Safeguarding God’s Children program.

I'm not an Episcopalian, can I receive Communion?

Yes! The Episcopal Church welcomes all baptized Christians to receive Holy Communion. Parents may decide when their children are ready to participate.

If you have not been baptized, we invite you to come forward, cross your arms over your chest, and receive a blessing instead. We’d also love to talk with you about Baptism for you or your child whenever you’re ready.

Communion is a sacred moment where we remember Christ’s love, receive grace, and celebrate God’s presence with us.
